Dr Herrman has been the Medical Director at VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital since 2000. She has been a veterinarian at this hospital since 1985. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of Delaware. She received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. When Dr. Herrman is not working, she enjoys all outdoor activities, especially adventure traveling. "I love the profession of veterinary medicine. Through the profession, I have met a diverse array of people including colleagues and clients. I like medicine, especially infectious diseases, and soft tissue surgery.".
Education:
Dr. DeMarco was originally from Hatfield, Pennsylvania. She attended the University of Delaware as a Pre-Vet Student in the College of Agriculture. She attended Oklahoma State University for Veterinary School and Graduated in 2001. After 4 wonderful years in the Midwest she was ready to move home to the fast paced, loud talkers of the east coast. Soon after graduation, Dr. DeMarco married one of her best friends from college. They are blessed with 2 beautiful daughters. Dr. DeMarco joined the VCA Kirkwood team in 2008. She has been practicing small veterinary medicine in Delaware since her graduation in 2001. . Dr. DeMarco enjoys baking, scrap booking and spending time with her family. She also shares her home with a very sassy little Chihuahua named Bendito. "I am on of those blessed people that can truly say "I love my job". I am challenged every day. I get to make lasting relationships with clients, and I am surrounded by great people at VCA Kirkwood who really care about what they do and want to make a difference in the world, one furry friend at a time.".
Education:
Dr. Lawrie received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware in 2003. She then traveled down south to attend Veterinary School at the University of Georgia. She graduated in 2007 and moved to New York City to do a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Animal Medical Center. After completing her internship Dr. Lawrie worked as an emergency veterinarian at the Animal Medical Center. Dr. Lawrie grew up in Wilmington and now resides back in the area. She lives with her husband Rob, who is also a Small Animal and Exotic Veterinarian in Pennsylvania, and their 2 sons, Jackson and Finley. They have 2 beagles, Russell and Linda and a lab mix, Claire. She also has a cat named sprout. In her free time she loves to spend time with her family and watch Georgia Football, Go Dawgs!. Being a veterinarian is something that I have always wanted to do. I knew from the moment I started in the field as a kennel worker at the age of 15 that I would never be happy doing anything else. I love both the science side of the field and also the personal side when I get to know the clients. I am proud to be an advocate for animals through my work.".
Education:
Dr. Bowman received her veterinary degree in 2010 from Ross University. She resides in Maryland with her husband Brooke, who is a large animal veterinarian, and their son, Owen. She grew up in Southern California and will most likely never get use to the winters on the east coast. She enjoys gardening, hiking and spending time with her family. "I enjoy what I do because I love developing a relationship with clients and their pets. I also love the challenge of medical cases.".
Education:
Dr. Qiao received her veterinary degree from Mississippi State University in 2012 after a bachelor's degree in Biology from La Salle University. Since joining the VCA team in 2013, Dr.Qiao has grown in her love of small animal medicine and dentistry. Dr. Qiao lives in Newark with her husband Xian and their furry family. She loves throwing the tennis ball for her dog Max and cuddling with her cat Mr. PIBs, short for Puss in Boots. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family in PA.
